We are a nonprofit volunteer organization working to centralize and focus PPE efforts to protect our first responders and area hospitals.

After reaching out to the Washington Department of Enterprise Services, Department of Health, WA Covid-19 response team, and all area hospitals, we became aware of the understandable overwhelm and lag time getting PPE to our front line. We then pivoted to become a direct line and source of that PPE and homemade PPE to our first responders and hospitals.

We have established partnerships with many organizations in business, manufacturing, communications, and high tech to collaborate to get PPE to those with the greatest need.

We now have six divisions under our Stop The Bug umbrella:

  1. Home Sewists: A group of nearly 3,000, as well as Stop The Bug: Gratitude Masks

  2. 3D Makers: Face shields, N95, PAPR and Infectious Disease Control PPE

  3. Manufacturing and Business: Please see our partners list)

  4. Collection and Nationwide Distribution: As well as international distribution to our military overseas

  5. Homeless Outreach: Partnered with Enactus City University here in Seattle, getting masks to Union Gospel Mission, Chief Seattle Club, Millionair Club, Mary’s Place, and others

In addition to the main divisions, we have operational teams overseeing fundraising, social media, writing, operations, PR/media, website, volunteer coordination, intake, Facebook moderation, and outreach.
